The Devils Interval
The Devil's Interval combines the individual vocal talents of Lauren McCormick, Jim Causley and Emily Portman.The English song tradition so strongly expressed in their solo work is also present in their group repertoire, an eclectic mix ranging from Tom Waits to Phoebe Smith and Dolly Parton!
Though young they are already seasoned performers and workshop leaders having appeared at many major festivals including the 50th Sidmouth International Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Whitby Folk Week and the National Folk Festival.
They have already made a big impression on the folk club scene and have had repeated airplay on music programmes such as BBC Radio 3's Late Junction. They have also recieved wide press coverage in folk magazines including recent articles in fRoots and are due to appearing on the forthcoming Song Links recording.
Forthcoming gigs include singing with Waterson:Carthy in their special Frost and Fire concerts at the grand opening of the Sage Gateshead music centre on 22nd & 23rd December 2004 and the Song Links 2 launch concert in Cecil Sharp House, London on 17th April 2005.
